This week, we sat down with award-winning explorer and adventurer, George Bullard and we learned a little more about what makes him tick…
Who has inspired you most?
My swimming coach - he didn’t ask us to do anything he wasn’t willing to do himself.
Favourite place to eat/stay around the world?
Desert Island in North Rona. Virtually no water or food. There is a hut on the island which contains only whisky and chocolate, I lived there for a week.
Your most critical skills?
Enthusiasm makes up for any lack of talent I have!
What excites you about the world?
The opportunity to do good, to give back, to have your impact on the planet. Whether it be big or small.
Favourite Love Brand print?
Plain Sailing!
Advice to a budding explorer?
You don’t need a lot of money, but if you actually want to do something you can do it super cheaply! Just do something! Stop talking about it and get going!
Favourite place on earth?
South Georgia. In the middle of the Southern Ocean. Virtually impossible for humans to survive there! Only way to get there is to sail there, which takes about a week!
Pool or ocean?
Ocean
Why is conservation important to you?
We have a duty of care to be a guardian of our planet, it’s impossible for me not to leave the planet in a better place than I found it.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
I would change very little, not regretting a single day. Hopefully still alive on planet Earth!
