Vila Vita Parc

PORTUGAL

Nature takes precedence at the 5-star Vila Vita, with rugged rock formations, lush subtropical greenery, and, of course, the inviting deep blue ocean.

Located in the heart of the Algarve, which famously gets over 300 days of sunshine a year, it's just a 40-minute drive from Faro Airport. The area is famed for exquisite ceramics, which line the pavements on the road to the resort.

On arrival at Vila Vita, you’re greeted by warm and welcoming staff, while being bathed in that soft Portuguese sunlight.

54 Acres of Clifftop Seclusion

Winding cobblestone paths with swaying palms and vibrant flora lead to the accommodation. Amid 54 acres, wherever you choose to stay - suites, villa or room - you’re guaranteed that feeling of seclusion.

The exteriors are unmistakably Portuguese, with a palette of chalky whites finished with punchy cobalt blues. Rooms and suites are perched above the clifftop with incredible sea views. The attached terraces make for the perfect spot to take in the ocean views with a morning coffee or cool glass of green Portuguese wine in the evening.

From Michelin Stars to Mediterranean Classics

When it comes to food, the options at Vila Vita are near endless, with 13 restaurants and 7 bars to choose from. Most have heard of the must-visit two Michelin-starred Ocean. It explores Portugal’s culinary heritage, combining that with influences from around the globe.

Guests can also dine at Giardino for authentic Italian cuisine or head to Mizu Teppanyaki for a Teppan experience. The resort also has an impressive wine cellar stocked with more than 33,000 bottles to pair with your meal.

Most spots also take advantage of local Portuguese ingredients, with Vila Vita also growing its own produce and raising its own livestock through its sister estate, Herdade dos Grous. As a result, food is as fresh and locally sourced as can be.

Setting New Standards for Sustainable Luxury

That’s just the start of the resort’s dedication to sustainability, for which it has won several awards.

Vila Vita works closely with local conservation and wildlife organisations to protect the Algarve’s unique ecology. The grounds act as a release site for rehabilitated birds, and through collaboration with Zoomarine, they’ve also planted over 50,000 trees across the area.

Thanks to a desalination system, which turns seawater into potable water, Vila Vita is, in this way, self-sufficient in its water supply by over 40%. This water is used to maintain the gardens, lakes and swimming pools. And it isn’t taken from the public water supply, which in a way is a contribution to the community too.

The History of Vila Vita

The story of Vila Vita dates back to 1992, when the late founders, Dr Reinfried and Mrs Anneliese Pohl, discovered the unique cliff-top site and set out to bring their dream vision to life.

It initially opened with 60 rooms but has steadily grown every year. 1993 saw the inauguration of the main hotel building, adding another 73 rooms and suites. And in 1995, Vila Vita became a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, setting a standard of luxury and service that saw it immediately recognised as one of the best in the region.

Fast forward to today, and the resort now employs over 900 people in high season. It’s grown to include The Vila Vita Spa by Sisley Paris, numerous pools and wellness activities and even has its own four yachts for hire to go dolphin spotting or cave exploring.

The Exclusive Print

Vila Vita Dolphins

We've teamed up with Vila Vita to create an exclusive new print.

The Algarve is famed for its ceramics and tiles. 'Vila Vita Dolphins' is an homage to this heritage and local dolphins. The common bottlenose dolphins are mirrored in the tile print design, raising awareness for this critically endangered species in the Mediterranean. Despite the name, the number of common bottlenose dolphins is in decline, and sightings are increasingly rare.

The print raises awareness for the protection of the endangered common bottlenose dolphins in the Med and celebrates Vila Vita Parc’s sensitivity to nature, both land and sea. Despite their low numbers, guests can be lucky enough to sight the dolphins jumping off the coast of Vila Vita Parc during their stay.

This experience is captured in the print in the traditional blues of Algarve ceramics. The capsule includes exclusive printed and embroidered swim shorts for father and son, exclusively available at Vila Vita Parc in the Algarve.
