Introducing 'Rhino Rhythm', our new blue hue print, on a Sky Blue background there are Navy rhinos mirroring each other. The print is inspired by the work of LOVE BRAND & Co's partner Tusk Trust, who work on saving the critically endangered Black Rhino.
'Rhinoceros' is a Greek word meaning 'horned nose' ('rhino' meaning 'nose', and 'ceros' meaning 'horn'), these hoofed mammals have been roaming the planet for roughly 50 million years. Their 'prehensile' (hooked) lips allow these herbivores to feast on vegetation.
A poaching law was enforced in 1977 making it illegal to hunt black rhinos for their horns. In parts of Asia, a rhino's horn on display is a sign of affluence, status and power, therefore there is a demand to remove them from the mammal. The horn is also made from keratin which is highly sought after for medications, and treatments for different ailments. Sadly if a rhino's horns are removed, it is a long healing process which does not usually occur naturally. That is where Tusk Trust come into play with their charity work to build a better future for endangered animals, such as the black rhino.
