This summer, Santa Marina marks a milestone: forty years on its own peninsula in Mykonos. Greek Family Values
The story of Santa Marina begins in 1979, when Greek entrepreneur Elais Papageorgiou purchased a rugged stretch of coastline on Ornos Bay. Already complete with a house, a windmill, a “pigeon house”, a guesthouse, and the Santa Marina chapel (which became the hotel’s namesake), what followed was not the creation of a hotel, but the careful evolution of a place.
Roads were paved, pools were added, and buildings were designed to feel less like a resort and more like a traditional Mykonian village.
When Santa Marina opened in 1986 with just twelve bungalows, luxury hospitality in Mykonos was still in its infancy. By the mid-1990s, the resort had expanded and established itself as one of the island’s pioneering luxury destinations.
To this day, it remains owned by the same local family that opened it four decades ago. The traditional Greek hospitality and family values remain just as much a part of the resort as they did when it opened.

The resort offers 105 guest rooms and suites, along with 12 exclusive villas with private pools, fully equipped kitchens and exceptional services. Designed in a luxurious and chic style, the interiors feature light tones with natural island accents of wood, enhanced by brilliant blue views of the Aegean Sea.
Santa Marina is home to Mykonos' only private sandy beach, set in a quiet cove and protected from the famed Mykonian winds.

Or choose from 4 striking cabanas floating on the seawater infinity pool to enjoy a bite from the Oasis Pool & Lounge. The Buddha Beach Bar is also a fantastic sushi spot set above the beach. It’s an Aegean interpretation of the famous Buddha-Bar lifestyle experience, and even turns into a club in the eve.
Beyond the Peninsula
Just a 15-minute car ride away, Mykonos Town reveals a maze of cobblestoned alleyways, blue-domed chapels and bougainvillaea-covered boutiques.

Aegean Skies
For SS26, we’ve collaborated on an exclusive print for Santa Marina. 'Aegean Skies' is inspired by Elenora’s Falcon. This large migratory falcon visits Mykonos during the breeding season, stopping en route to Madagascar. It’s a rare and beautiful sight in the Aegean skies above Santa Marina.
