On The Prowl | The future of the Florida Panther
Our latest print 'On The Prowl' is inspired by the critically endangered Florida Panther. A sleek and rhythmic geometric in navy blue and white, telling an important survival story of an iconic species and raising awareness for their threats in today's world.

on the brink of extinction
Florida Panthers were nearly extinct by the mid-1950s with merely a few dozen left in the wild. They were hunted to a point of extinction, as they were perceived as a threat to people and livestock. It was one of the first species added to the U.S. endangered species list in 1973 but today they are making a steady comeback!

where are Florida panthers found?
The Florida Panther is predominantly found in southern Florida in swamplands such as Everglades National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve. Today there are approximately 200 adult Florida panthers in the wild today. A conservation success story that belongs to Floridians and the communities coexisting with the panthers and managing habitat loss and habitat fragmentation.

Florida panthers are Florida's widest ranging land animal and their large territories are shared with many other species, creating an umbrella effect. Like with elephants in India, by protecting and and conserving migration corridors for Florida panthers, we protect many other rare species which share the panther habitat like gopher tortoises and black bears. Local charities are working hard to protect land, connect migration corridors, raise awareness with motorists and local communities and help ensure these beautiful cats survive and thrive in the future.
Not all large cats roar! The Florida panther is one such cat that can’t roar, instead they purr, hiss and growl to communicate. The only large cats which roar are Lions, tigers, jaguars, and leopards.
