The Marbella Club | The Magic of the Mediterranean
We are delighted to partner with prestigious Mediterranean hideaway, the Marbella Club Hotel. With a shared love for island life and family travel, this collaborative print celebrates the richness of marine ecosystems while highlighting the important work of the Marbella Club in supporting endangered seahorses in the region.
From Rustic Finca to Iconic Hotel
Marbella Club began as the von Hohenlohe family’s serene Mediterranean escape, Finca Santa Margarita, and today the property is home to one of the finest resorts in the world. The story unfolds in 1946, when Prince Max, enchanted by tales of the Mediterranean from his cousin Soriano, decided to experience it firsthand. He fired up his Rolls-Royce Phantom and embarked on a journey to southern Spain. A leisurely picnic in a coastal pine forest marked the beginning of something extraordinary.
Captivated by the tranquil beauty, Prince Max’s son, Prince Alfonso, returned the following year and purchased this rural enclave. By 1954, the Marbella Club was born, transforming the old finca of figs and pines into a legendary Mediterranean retreat. Today, it stands as a testament to a family’s vision and love for the region’s natural splendour, offering uncompromising comfort and endless gastronomic, cultural and active pursuits.
Embrace the Andalusian Spirit at Marbella Club
The hotel invites guests to fall in love with this incredible corner of the world, with its warm microclimate and spectacular mountain views. The hotel encourages guests to kick back and embrace the Andalusian spirit: to live well with plenty of sea air and fresh seafood. They welcome guests to move at their tranquil pace, a pace that nurtures the important things in life: family, community, laughter and togetherness. The Marbella Club is renowned for its exceptional service and commitment to creating unforgettable experiences for all its guests. There is no exception at the Kids Club where mini Marbella Club guests enjoy local arts & crafts and dance, as well as experiencing an interactive Seahorse culture tank that sparks curiosity and awareness.
In the heart of the Marbella Club, where luxury and nature seamlessly blend, an environmental endeavour is quietly unfolding. The hotel proudly champions Aula Del Mar’s seahorse conservation project, weaving a mission of marine preservation into the fabric of the retreat, the narrative behind our exclusive print collaborations with this idyllic hotel.
We are delighted to continue our long-standing partnership with the prestigious, Marbella Club Hotel. With a shared love for island life and family travel, this collaborative print celebrates the richness of marine ecosystems while highlighting the important work of the Marbella Club in supporting endangered seahorses in the region.
- LOVE BRAND & Co. Founder Oliver Tomalin
A Signature Print for Marbella Club
A second exclusive Seahorse print for the hotel, 'Seahorses & Orcas', is again exclusively designed by LOVE BRAND & Co. founder Oliver Tomalin for the Marbella Club. The print sees the illusion of orcas jumping from waves within the mesmerising pattern of seahorse silhouettes. The design raises awareness for the diverse and sometimes surprising range of marine life found in the Mediterranean, from killer whales to tropical seahorses and everything in between.
The conservation initiative, in collaboration with Aula del Mar (Classroom of the Sea), is dedicated to repopulating seahorses and protecting their Mediterranean habitat. Within a specialised culture tank at the Kids Club, seahorses flourish in an environment meticulously crafted to mirror their natural one. Here, researchers delve into the mysteries of seahorse ecology and behaviour, fostering breeding efforts away from the dangers of habitat loss and fishing nets.
Eventually, the offspring of these seahorses will be released off the coast of Portugal, where a successful reintroduction program awaits. Meanwhile, Aula del Mar and Marbella Club volunteers have been researching seahorse populations and habitat conditions in the Costa del Sol region. Their goal is to restore seabed grasses and prairie land, creating a haven for seahorses in Spanish waters. The project also boosts seahorse conservation awareness through engaging talks, workshops, and training sessions for those in the education, tourism, fishing, and maritime sectors.
The printed swim shorts in deep blue and aqua green are available in sizes for men exclusively at The Marbella Club and LOVE BRAND & Co. Explore the new patterned swim shorts and help raise awareness for the majestic seahorses of the Mediterranean.
