As World Elephant Day is all about celebrating these majestic animals, we’re taking a chance to reflect on some of the incredible work of our charity partners, aiding elephant conservation efforts globally.

World Elephant Day is celebrated worldwide on Wednesday, 12 August 2026.

What is World Elephant Day?

World Elephant Day is all about coming together to help conserve and protect elephants from the many threats they face.

While one of the most beloved animals across the world, numbers are dwindling. Asian, Indian and African elephants are all sadly now classified as endangered species.

The day is all about taking the chance to learn about these fantastic beings, expressing your concern, as well as supporting and donating to charities who are working to protect them. Elephant Family and The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust are just two of many fantastic charities you can support.

Why Do Elephants Need Our Help?

All three living elephant species are now classified as endangered or critically endangered, with Africa’s elephant population declining by around 90% over the last century.

There are several critical reasons elephants need our help.

1. Poaching

Elephants continue to face the devastating threat of poaching. Driven by the illegal ivory trade, around 50 African elephants are killed every single day for their tusks.¹

2. Habitat Loss

As the human population continues to grow, forests and grasslands are converted into farms, houses and infrastructure, resulting in eles losing the spaces they call home. Ancient migration routes are disappearing, making it harder for herds to find food, water and safe places to roam.

3. Human-Wildlife Conflict

When elephant pathways overlap with farms and villages, both people and wildlife face difficult challenges. Searching for food, elephants wander into cropland, leading to fatal consequences on both sides.

How Does Love Brand Support Elephant Conservation?

We are proud to partner with and donate to some incredible charities working to protect wild elephants.

The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust runs the most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world. As well as this, they work to tackle poaching in Kenya and operate regular elephant safety patrols to aid injured elephants in the wild.

Elephant Family

Elephant Family works across Asia to reduce habitat loss and create safe wildlife corridors that allow elephants and people to share space more peacefully. As forests shrink, they’re working to restore and reconnect habitats by preserving vital corridors and reducing competition for food, water and space.

Their work inspired our hero 'Elephant Palace' print, and we were honoured to support them as the official merchandise partner for The Great Elephant Migration. The fundraising project saw 100 magnificent Indian elephant statues migrate across the USA, celebrating Indigenous wisdom and encouraging us all to rethink how humans and wildlife can thrive together.

How Did Elephants Inspire Love Brand?

It was actually Elephant Family’s ‘Elephant Parade’ in London back in 2010 which ignited LB founder, Oliver Tomalin’s love for eles. The charity’s exhibition of baby elephant sculptures highlighted the fact that wild elephants may very well disappear within his lifetime. The artistic allure and urgent message struck a very real cord.

With this, Oliver set about merging his passions for design, travelling and the natural world, and Love Brand was conceived, with an ethos rooted in conservation.

While on his very first date with his now wife (and LB co-founder), Oliver sketched our logo of two elephants forming a heart for the first time on a restaurant napkin, and the rest is history.
