In Conversation with Toby Huntington-Whiteley

Love Brand Toby Huntington-Whiteley Q&A Interview
Love Brand is thrilled to announce Toby Huntington-Whiteley as the SS19 face. Toby’s boyhood dream was to be a Safari Ranger and his passion for wildlife and the natural world is inspiring. Toby is actively involved in our conservation projects and we are hugely excited to work with him going forward.

Toby, to you, what is true luxury?

For me, it’s about provenance and quality. I value luxury items that have been handcrafted or that are made from the highest quality materials. I would far rather invest in buying once than buying cheap over and over again.

What are your luxuries in life?

Travel, this is probably my biggest and favourite luxury. I love the feeling of arriving in a new destination, knowing very little about the place and exploring the culture.

What are your travel essentials?

My Love Brand cap always travels with me when I go away. A notebook to write down ideas and inspiration that comes to me and my camera – I’ve had it for ages but just recently have been learning how to use it more so I’m enjoying taking that with me.

Your favourite place in the world, and why?

At home in Devon, there’s something about the rolling green hills that will always draw me in.

Pool or ocean?

Ocean every time. Nothing beats the wilderness of swimming in the open water.

Your favourite travel destination?

That’s such a hard one. Italy is somewhere I want to explore more. Africa for me will always be close to my heart from spending 6 months there many years ago.

Short or Long sleeve linen shirt?

Patterned short sleeve shirts are what I’ll be wearing this summer!

Favourite Love Brand print & why?

I love Rhino Rhythm. I like that it’s abstract and not so literal.

What do you love most about the natural world?

The sense of freedom I get when I am in nature. Our bodies innately respond to it and I feel calm and content.

The best piece of advice you’ve been given?

To laugh at myself… which I do regularly.
