becoming a b corp

LOVE BRAND & Co. achieved B Corporation status in 2022, joining a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact.

By becoming B Corp certified, we have written environmental and social advocacy into our legal business structure. We are
counted among a handful of fashion brands that are leading a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.

B Corp is an amazing tool to recognise there is so much more to do. We are excited to be learning and developing among like minded companies and people.

looking to the future

Micro-plastic shedding reduces with each wash. To this end we are setting a goal to introduce a new step in the manufacturing process of our swimwear, adding an additional wash to capture the majority of micro-plastics and reducing subsequent consumer micro-plastic shedding.

Packaging

All our printed marketing materials use sustainable paper certified by FSC. FSC forest management certification  confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people and workers, while ensuring it sustains economic viability.

Printing & DYEing

Some processes in garment making prove harmful to our planet. Therefore, we stay tuned to industry innovation and work closely with our manufacturers. Currently we use Nebulization Dyeing for our plain Swimming Trunks, that uses 90% less water with the same dyeing and colour quality.

FUTURE GOALS

Our UN SDG focus In 2015, the UN shared their 17 Sustainable Development Goals, forming part of their 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The goals - which range from poverty to hunger, climate change to resource consumption, provide a clear and urgent call to action for countries to help tackle some of earth’s biggest issues. Together, the goals put forward a mission too big for LOVE BRAND & Co. to tackle all in one go. While we are always working as hard as we can to improve our actions in all areas, we’ve chosen to focus specifically on the three SDG’s where our actions make the most difference. The 3 SDGs that we believe where we can have the most impact are SDG 12, 14 and 15. We have used them as a guide for our responsibility efforts.

SDG14 LIFE BELOW WATER

We work with charities to support marine conservation projects, where we donate funds and raise awareness for initiatives and using our prints to tell stories. Below the water, specifically this year we supported coral & marine conservation projects in The Bahamas and Posidonia Seagrass conservation in Ibiza. Also, by using more recycled plastic in our products we are indirectly reducing the amount of plastic that ends up in the sea.

SDG 12 RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION & CONSUMPTION

Creating our products while leaving as little trace as possible. Closing the loop wherever we can, by using recycled plastic materials and ensuring our products are durable and reparable to reduce unnecessary consumption.

SDG 15 LIFE ON LAND

Supporting charities with their work towards protecting endangered species on land. Specifically human-elephant coexistence projects in India with Elephant Family and wild elephant conservation in Kenya with The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Donating funds and volunteer time and offering space for fundraising events. SDG 15 also refers to the agricultural processes of our suppliers, such as cotton and flax growers, and working towards using less virgin materials and more recycled materials in our fabrications.
