Biras Marina & Resort, a secluded getaway accessible only by boat or helicopter, is tucked away on Virgin Gorda's remote northeastern shore. Set on 140 lush acres, this exclusive retreat offers a rare blend of barefoot luxury and wild, unspoiled beauty.
A Hidden Slice of Paradise
Biras lies at the heart of the North Sound, an expanse of water dotted with tiny islets and coral reefs. Travellers to Biras have long been captivated by panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, framed by swaying palm trees. Having such a location gives the property the feeling of ultimate seclusion.
There’s a “magic of nature here,” Guillermo Houwer, co-owner of Biras, told us. “The calm waters in our secluded bay offer a perfect oasis for boaters whilst enjoying being surrounded by turtles and iguanas.”
Waking to the Whisper of Waves
The development will feature a series of privately owned residences, each individually designed to blend with the natural surroundings. Interiors are a soothing fusion of natural materials and contemporary comforts, blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors.
At the centre of Biras lies Ikigai, the signature Japanese-Caribbean fusion restaurant featuring locally inspired dishes presented on a menu that showcases traditional dishes with an innovative twist. Named for the life concept of purpose and joy, it’s a place that invites lingering.
Guests can treat themselves to an Omakase, a 12-course Japanese-Caribbean dinner selected by the chef or sample the terrace menu. And the view? The North Sound stretches out before you, with boats glinting in the sunset. Days at Biras unfold with the same gentle rhythm as the tides.
Drift, Dive, Discover
The marina is the beating heart, where sailboats bob in anticipation. There, guests enjoy The Mangrove, an innovative farm-to-table restaurant that brings flavours from every corner of the world, Biras Boutique, the BVI's first high-end multi-brand concept store, or simply sample homemade bread and pastries at Cafecito.
Set off across the water, and you’ll find yourself skimming over cerulean waters, past mangroves and quiet coves. Head under the waves and snorkel amongst darting parrotfish and sea turtles. Or dive a little deeper to uncover coral gardens bursting with colour.
Back on land, the island’s trails invite slow exploration. Hop on a bike or lace up your walking shoes, and follow paths that lead to beaches so secluded they feel like secrets.
Whether lounging on a beach, exploring the island’s trails, or dining under the stars, guests are enveloped in a sense of peace and possibility. In a world that moves ever faster, Biras Marina & Resort offers a timeless retreat and a chance to reconnect with the natural world.
The Print
X Marks the Spot
We partnered with Biras to create a new print that can be found exclusively in Biras Boutique. The print sees the iconic Biras iguana logo mirrored and repeated to create an ‘X’ motif with the iguana heads. The 'X Marks the Spot' print symbolises the special coordinates of Biras' location between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, and the remarkable treasures which are found here.
