To mark this noteworthy occasion, LOVE BRAND & Co. founder, Oliver Tomalin, has designed six exclusive prints, each representing a sentimental place to A&K's founder, Geoffrey Kent. This print depicts traditional Chinese lanterns which signify prosperity, good luck and vitality.

Throughout Chinese history, lanterns have symbolised new life, wealth and vitality. Since as far back as the Han Dynasty (206 BCE to 220 CE), on the fifteenth day of the lunar New year, Buddhust monks have lit lanterns to honour the Buddha and this tradition has in more recent centuries been adopted throughout China. Specifically red lanterns have been used in wedding ceremonies and other events to connote prosperity and a time for celebration. Our 'Lucky Lanterns' print illustrates red lanterns upon an ocean blue background, which is the colour signifying immortality in Chinese culture.
